James is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and has held a number of senior finance roles in FTSE multinationals. He is an Executive Director of The John Maxwell Team, certified to facilitate, speak, train and coach individuals and groups in the areas of leadership development, professional skills and personal growth
James is also involved in a number of charitable projects and is particularly passionate about youth and community development projects.
DR B. FUNDAFUNDA - Director of Virtual Doctors
As an independent consultant primarily to African governments, Dr Bonface Fundafunda has supported the development of health policies and strategies related to procurement and supply chain systems for essential health products in the public health sector.
With over 25 years of experience of working in health policy, planning, strategy, operational systems and business development in the access to medicines area, he is currently engaged by Africa Resource Centre (ARC), in the role of Regional Lead for East and Southern Africa countries, and as a Government Engagement Lead.
MUYUNDA MUNYINDA - Director of Virtual Doctors Zambia
Muyunda is Enterprise Director at Airtel Zambia. He has many years of experience, largely in the private sector, in industries including corporate banking, energy, mining, transportation and FMCG.
Muyunda studied at the University of Zambia (BA Economics) and the University of Cape Town (MBA).
STELLAH CHILEMBO - VDrs Operations Supervisor
Stellah Chilembo serves as Liaison Officer Manager on the board. She has served in the organisation since 2016 and has been a Field Assistant/ Liaison Officer the entire time.
Stellah first did her certificate in M&E in 2019 and currently a Bachelors in Public Health Part-Time student at University of Lusaka. She is passionate about promoting good heath for the nation, using the Public Health Approach to prevent the nation from injury/disease.
HUW JONES - Founder & President
Huw has over 25 years’ experience working in Africa. He was a professional safari guide for many years, and subsequently worked on social development projects for rural communities including a countrywide eLearning programme and a large donor funded agricultural development programme. Huw has also consulted for the United Nations, the World Bank and worked for UK local government.
Huw is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and holds an MSc in Environment and International Development from the University of East Anglia.
OLIVIO BARRETO - Treasurer
Olivio has held a number of senior finance roles across the public sector as well the private sector with UK and US multinationals over the last 25 years. He is keen to work with Virtual Doctors to provide sustainable healthcare across the world. He has travelled through Kenya - the coast, plains, arid areas… and gets immense pleasure from simply walking along mountain streams
Olivio is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and has an MBA from Oxford Brookes University.
Dr. PHALLON B MWABA - Director of Virtual Doctors Zambia
Dr. Phallon B Mwaba is a Zambian Medical Doctor, holder of a Masters in Global Health from the University of Glasgow, and currently pursuing a PhD in Social and Public Health. He has vast experience in primary health care, public health and health care management at hospital and district levels. He is passionate about health care management, global health and finding innovative ways of dealing with health care service delivery in resource limited areas and developing complex health interventions
NGENDA NYAMBE - Director of Virtual Doctors Zambia
Ngenda is a former banker and financial markets expert with over 22 years of experience in the sector.
He is currently an independent consultant in the financial services industry, and is also an independent non-executive director of some commercial and public sector boards of directors.
PRISCILLA BANDA - Director of Virtual Doctors Zambia
Patricia is currently Country Representative for Mothers2mothers Zambia and has been working for U.S. Government-funded programmes for over 22 years in Zambia’s health sector. She has served as Country Director for number of organisations, including the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation (EGPAF) and National Alliance for State and Territorial Aids Directors (NASTAD).
Wilson Mooba - Clinical Care Service and Communications Officer
Wilson Mooba serves as Clinical Care Service and Communications Officer at the Virtual Doctors. He is a versatile multi-faceted technical Journalist and Public Relations practitioner.
Wilson brings 3 years of experience working in the health sector in Zambia, and he believes in educating and working with the community as a way of improving quality health.
He is passionate about photography with a strong grasp of storytelling using digital images and a focus on call-to-action health promotional content and optimisation.
Penelope Chileshe - Clinical Liaison Officer
Penelope has spent over 3 years supporting private sector development. Her current role as Clinical Liaison Officer focuses on liaising between the organisation and service users ensure service remains top of mind. Her previous work experience includes Disability Rights watch and Restless development Zambia. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication from the University of Zambia.
