Your November update:
Latest expansion news
Thanks to our generous donors, we’ve expanded to 5 new sites and users in Mkushi (Central Province), a new district for the Virtual Doctors. Here is an extract from a recent report issued by our Zambian team, which gives a good insight into how a new VDrs site comes to life:
"We've trained four nurses and one clinical officer on how to use the Virtual Doctors’ system with great success. We spent time together sending test cases and testing to ensure that the all devices were working properly. We also met with the Clinical Care Officer and the acting District Health Director to discuss the training and expectations of the program. We also showed them simple troubleshooting techniques" . Shakerrie Allmond and Stella Chitembo.
A Virtual Doctor in Zambia
Nikki Hall, one of our volunteer doctors and ophthalmology specialists, has been spending the past 3 months in Zambia and found time to meet up with our Zambia team recently. Nikki is looking forward to joining Stellah on one of her up-country visits travelling to the Zambia Helpers Mission in Chilanga in the near future.
Look out for Nikki's Blog - coming soon.
Case from the Field & other blogs
Our latest cast study is about stroke. Read it here. See more examples of other recent cases here.
In her latest blog, volunteer Digital Champion, Livi Woosey is interviewing Dr Daniel Grace, a member of our Medical Team, helping to oversee case uploads and support other volunteer doctors in their all-important work.
Daniel has been busy, giving a talk to the Crowborough Townswomens Guild recently.
